What we do

We are a venture backed, small but growing UK company with offices in Bridgend, London and Atlanta.   The company was first founded in 2009 by two former doctors with a passion to use technology and data to solve healthcare problems and has now grown to an organisation of almost 40 employees, many of whom have worked in healthcare and are experts in their field.  We develop innovative software solutions for use in the areas of Life Sciences and Healthcare.  Using agile working methods, we respond to rapidly changing and newly emerging markets by utilising technology and data analytics to help inform healthcare decision making.   We have customers or partners in the US, UK, Australia and other English speaking healthcare economies.

Our employees, who are geographically dispersed across the UK and the US, are dedicated and highly skilled in their field.   They design, develop, implement, support, sell and market our products used by our customers and partners.

  • Our technology

    We use a combination of natural language processing, machine learning and other techniques to generate queryable structured data from the clinical notes written by doctors and other healthcare professionals.
    Studies have demonstrated that as much as 80% of the knowledge about patients is contained in such clinical ‘narrative’ and, traditionally, this is ‘trapped’ and is only interpretable when other clinicians read it.
    The rich, structured, information we can derive can be easily analysed and used to solve tough challenges in healthcare and life sciences.

What you’ll be doing

You will follow a 2 year technology plan where you will work on innovative projects that will help us develop and deliver our solutions. An example plan looks like this:

  • Year 1 – Software Engineering, Testing, Support

  • Year 2 – Implementation, Product Management

We’ll work with you to tailor your plan when you join to reflect your particular aptitudes, skillsets and ambitions. We will also identify the opportunities for providing additional external training to supplement what you have already learned during your academic career. You will work with technical experts and also be supported by a mentor and a buddy to make sure you get the most out of your time with us. Your mentor will be a senior member of staff who will meet with you on a regular basis to advise on how best to achieve your objectives. Your buddy is someone you can go to whenever you need to ask a question or help you until you are settled into the company.

Technologies you will be working with include Python, C++, Boost, C#/ASP.NET, Javascript, JQuery, AngularJS, SQL Server, MySQL, SQLite, Windows, Linux, Docker, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. However, as an innovative company, we are always seeking to evaluate new technologies and tools that improve our ability to deliver value to our customers and partners.

What do you need to succeed?

  • A minimum 2:1 degree in computing science or relevant degree

  • A passion for technology and its application in healthcare

  • To be agile and innovative in the way you think

  • To be hard working and commit to delivering results

  • To be up-to-date with the latest developments in technology

  • To be motivated to drive your own career

What will the programme give you?

Our graduate programme is 2 years in duration. In return for your drive, passion and determination, we’ll invest in you!

  • Salary £24,000 per annum

Further Training & Development

Training will be continuous as part of the 2 year graduate programme. In your first year we will focus on equipping you with further technical and industry knowledge where the need is identified.


Your training will be aligned to the work you are doing on each rotation, but will involve learning leading technologies.


Plus, we offer on-the-job coaching, the chance to study for relevant industry qualifications and access to wide-ranging training that will help you develop your skills.

What do you need to apply?

  • Proven extra-curricular successes

  • Work experience is desirable, but not essential

  • Be able to join us September 2018

  • The right to live and work in the UK

  • Willingness to be based in our Bridgend office

    Bridgend has excellent and inexpensive transport connections from Swansea to the west and Cardiff to the east and is perfectly placed between some wonderful locations such as The Gower and the Brecon Beacons.  Housing and accommodation is excellent value in the area and Bridgend benefits from a great selection of eating places and leisure facilities together with easy access to the wonderful Glamorgan Heritage Coast.
