Dr Chris Tackaberry, MD
Chief Executive Officer
Clinithink Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Chris Tackaberry, is a former physician with nine years of anesthesiology and intensive care experience in the UK. Chris left clinical practice in 2000 and combined the benefits of his medical expertise and MSc degree in Computer Science when he joined iSOFT, a UK-based healthcare software company operating in more than 35 countries.
During his time at iSOFT, Chris served in several roles, including Head of Clinical R&D, Clinical Director (Chief Medical Officer) and finally Product Management Director, where he oversaw a portfolio of more than 30 products driving approximately $320M of total annual revenue. Leading a team of over 200 product managers, business analysts and designers, Chris was instrumental in establishing iSOFT as a major global vendor of healthcare systems.
After leaving iSOFT, Chris built a successful consulting practice focused on technology strategy, product management and major systems implementation. His clients included Lion Television Inc, the UK Department of Health, Silver Lake Partners and Skype.
His vision to add meaning to, and get knowledge from, unstructured clinical data provides the direction for Clinithink and its technology.

Dr Peter Johnson, MD
Clinical Terminology Director
In addition to being one of Clinithink’s co-founders, Dr. Pete Johnson is also its Clinical Terminology Director, responsible for the company’s ongoing research and development program. As such, his primary role is to enhance and extend the ability of the core algorithms to interpret clinical narrative and analyze aggregated data.
Pete’s more than a decade of experience in healthcare IT has culminated in his profound understanding of strategies for successful Natural Language Processing (NLP) and the mapping of operational clinical narrative to structured ontologies, such as SNOMED CT. His discovery of a combination of NLP strategies with a particular implementation approach, and his optimization of this technology’s performance to support operational deployment for real-time use, is one of the field’s major achievements.
Pete is also a physician with 14 years of experience as a family doctor in the UK. In 1995, he left clinical practice to focus full-time on healthcare IT and worked on a number of significant projects for a diverse set of private and public sector clients. Among his many accomplishments, Pete is honored to have been appointed Visiting Scholar at the Stanford University Medical Informatics group.
Carl Cresswell
Chief Architect
Carl Cresswell is Clinithink’s Chief Architect, having served in that capacity since 2009. In this important role, Carl leads Clinithink’s technology innovation strategy and ensures that the company delivers secure, reliable, robust and commercially attractive solutions to the market.
Carl also manages the integration and deployment of CLiX into partner systems on a global scale.
Carl is a software architect with more than 14 years of experience developing and delivering commercial solutions across the full system life cycle, including application and infrastructure architecture, project management, analysis, design, consulting, programming, testing, support and technical sales.
Prior to joining Clinithink, Carl led development and architecture teams in the healthcare sector at ITS Wales, InHealth Solutions, Torex and iSOFT. His experience and thought leadership have resulted in his recognition as one of the industry’s leading experts in enterprise healthcare systems design and implementation.
Carl holds a BSc in Computer Science and lives with his wife and two children in Wales.
Robert Miller
Vice President, Sales
Robert Miller is a commercial and sales executive with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare sector. Prior to joining Clinithink in 2011 as Vice President of Sales, Robert managed the North American operations of iSOFT, a global healthcare software supplier operating in over 35 countries.
In addition, Robert was Group Commercial Director for iSOFT and had executive management responsibility for the sales and commercial operations of the group in the US, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia. Prior to taking responsibility at a group level, Robert was in charge of establishing and managing the iSOFT UK and Ireland sales organization.
Prior to his tenure at iSOFT, Robert held senior sales and marketing positions with a number of major healthcare suppliers, including IBM, Medisys and Sanderson.
Throughout his career, Robert has been a positive and proactive commercial director with extensive senior management experience specializing in sales and account management within the healthcare sector. His considerable communications and negotiation skills have helped build executive-level rapport and deliver mutually beneficial contracts and agreements. Robert has continuously proven, both in his previous positions and as Vice President of Sales at Clinithink, that he is a highly effective leader for sales and marketing teams capable of ensuring that even the most demanding targets and objectives are realized.
Martin Deleay
Chief Financial Officer
Clinithink’s Chief Financial Officer, Martin Deleay, brings a diverse breadth and depth of experience to his role with the company, which he assumed in September 2012. As CFO, Martin draws upon his considerable expertise and experience in financial modeling, as well as his commercial knowledge and analytical skills, to help drive the company’s continued growth.
Working closely with fellow senior management, his strategic support continues to ensure that Clinithink’s growth goals remain achievable, with solid financial logic at their core.
Martin’s background includes managing IT, HR and Administration across various sectors, as well as building and motivating cross-functional finance and administration teams. His experience in contract negotiation with both customers and suppliers will be an invaluable component of Clinithink’s growth strategy.
Prior to joining Clinithink, Martin lent his expertise to a number of companies in the cinema industry, playing a key role in several significant, high-profile transactions. He led the finance transition process between SBC and Warner Village, overseeing all Finance, IT and HR issues. He also played a lead role in Vue’s successful acquisition of Ster Century (UK) Ltd.
Phil Davies
Chief Technology and Information Officer
Phil Davies brings a wealth of experience to Clinithink, including his combined technical and business background as well as his proven ability to lead global technology and operations projects. Add his qualifications as a manager of complex technology implementations and product development life cycles and it’s easy to see why Clinithink management chose Phil for this important position.

Prior to joining Clinithink, Phil served as National Programme for IT Lead Lorenzo Architect, where he was responsible for end-to-end technical delivery for the company’s early deployments and virtual team creation and management across suppliers, Connecting for Health and the broader NHS.
At iSOFT, Phil served as Product Unit Director, where he managed the delivery of the Lorenzo Product and Platform, leading a development organization of 750 designers, developers and testers. He was also responsible for the P&L for a $16 Million Product Business Unit and, as iSOFT’s Infrastructure Manager, he successfully lead the integration of five UK acquisitions, growing the business to 2,500 employees and defining and executing the company’s product and technology strategy.
Phil holds a BSc with Honors in Industrial Information Technology and is a member of the British Computer Society. He lives in Preston with his wife and daughter.
Russell L. Anderson
Vice President , Product Management
Russ Anderson is Vice President of Product Management for Clinithink. In this role Russ is responsible for product planning and product strategy and for defining the value proposition that the company’s technology offers to customers and partners. He is responsible for managing all product lines as well as new product initiatives.
Russ has 14 years of healthcare IT experience, focused primarily on B2B integration, revenue cycle management and ACO solutions for payers and providers.
Prior to joining Clinithink, he spent 7 years as the Director of Financial Solutions for Availity, L.L.C., where he worked with physicians, hospitals and payers to develop products that improve financial performance by removing inefficiencies, reducing costs and improving payment cycle times. He also worked for Web.com (Nasdaq: WWWW) for five years as a Product Manager, where he helped small business owners manage their web presence.
He received his BA from the University of Missouri – Columbia. In addition, he holds an MBA, with an emphasis in Finance from the University of North Florida, where he was awarded the honor of Top Graduating MBA student of year. Russ is also Pragmatic Marketing Certified.
Russ is based out of Clinithink’s Atlanta, GA office.
